We’re moving.  I mean, we’re going to be moving really soon.  Only a month or so ago, Mike and I decided to bite the bullet and look for a house.  We were just planning on looking but then fortune may have it, we found a house we wanted suddenly and immediately…great price (for Seattle prices mind you!), beautifully well-kept, incredible patio/yard, and great energy…. needless to say, we bought it.

Although there were multiple offers and we weren’t even the highest bid, we got the house.  I mean it’s truly amazing, but the sellers wanted US to have it.  Yeah, with some mojo magic from both our agent and theirs, we beat out the competition.  I guess we said the right things, got the right advice, and had our beautiful boy to charm the pants off the selling agent.  Turns out the sellers have a little boy too.

We got the final approval yesterday, gave our notice, and are good to go for a move this month.  We’re so excited to settle down in our own place and  create a nest of our own as a family. We can even get a dog (they even have a dog door)!  Although we’re chomping at the bit, we’re also pretty nostalgic.  Ballard has been so good to us…lots of amazing memories here.

So many walks on 34th Avenue up to Sunset Hill Park, overlooking the Puget Sound, Olympic Mountains and Shilshole Marina, bike rides down to the hub of Ballard in the summer for Seafood Fest, and walking the Ballard streets in snow when there were literally no cars on the road.

This house is where Austin was born and experienced most of his first year of life.  Hard to believe, but he will be 9 months next week.

During his 8th month of life he learned to crawl, stand up on his own, get his two top teeth, master finger foods, and sleep through the night for the FIRST time (April 25th!).  All in ONE month!!  He’s also just transitioned from nanny care to daycare this week.

There has been a ton of change in such a short period time.  We’re exhausted!  Truly, we’re looking forward to settling down, settling in and beginning a new life in our new house.  We can’t wait to have you all over!

We retired the infant tub (finally!) and Austin’s now graduated to the big boy bath.  Bigger tub = more toys.  Better deal, don’t you think?

Now that Austin is past the 6 month mark, we’ve introduced some finger foods so he can practice eating.  It’s too much fun!  He loves smashing his food and slathering it all over his face.

Mike and I take turns feeding him because it’s really a hoot to watch him explore.  Plus he loves to play peek-a-boo when we’re cleaning him up.  He hasn’t started throwing things yet, so I’m sure that we’ll have a different opinion later on, but for now we’re having a ball. More importantly, he is!
